Things that are happening in Kindergarten C this week:
- We are practicing blending sounds into words. Please read with your child and practice this skill. Let them sound out words while reading a book with you.
- We are working on the color words green, red and yellow this week. Practice these color words with your child.
- We are working on the number 6/six this week.
- Please review the sounds of the letter d, f and n with your child. We are working on the sounds for these letters this week.
- Report cards are being sent home for the Second Trimester in your child's folder on Thursday. Please sign their report card and return it on Friday.
- There IS school on Friday, March 18th.
- We are still in need of tissues and disinfectant wipes. Your kindness is appreciated!

Things we're doing in Kindergarten C
- We are pacticing making the sound of Hh. Think of words that begin with the letter Hh.
- We are practicing writing the number 5/five. Please practice this skill at home with your child.
- Please continue to go over the unit words that were sent home in your child's folder.
- Please continue to go over the number words that were sent home as well. Your child should be able to recognize the number words one through ten.
- Help your child memorize the months of the year. We will be checking to see who know them this Friday, March 11.
- This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. We will be receiving ashes on Wednesday. Please talk to your child about doing kind deeds during the Lent Season.
- We are still in need of Clorox wipes and tissues. Your kindness and generosity is appreciated!

What we're doing in Kindergarten C this week:
- Happy Valentine's Day! Thank you for sending in treats for the children's Valentine's party, they loved everything!
- We are working on the letter Gg this week. Please practice both the hard Gg and the soft Gg sounds with your child. Help them hear the Gg sound at the beginning and at the end of words and think of words with the letter Gg in them.
- Please practice your number words one through ten this week.
- Dress Down Day is this Friday, Febuary 18th. The children can wear normal clothing instead of their school uniform. Please send $1.00 in if your child is going to participate.
- Please remember to clean out your child's folder nightly. They can get filled up pretty quickly.
- We are still in need of tissues and Clorox wipes. Please send in one or the other.
- The children are off from school on Monday, February 21st for President's Day.

- We are practicing the letter Kk this week. Try to think of words that begin with the letter Kk. Practice making the "ck" sound at the end of words such as duck, quack, clock. Look around your house and see what you can find!
- We are practicing writing the number 3 this week. Please practice this skill at home with your child.
- Please remember to clean out your child's folder at the end of each week.
- Please end in Valentine's Day cards numbered 1 to 18 by Thursday, February 10th.
- If you are sending in a snack for our Valentine's Day party please send that in by Thursday, February 10th unless it is a baked good.
- Keep reading for the Read-a-thon! The Read-a-thon ends on Monday, February 14th. Please be sure to send in the list of books and money from sponcers on February 14th.
- We are still in need of Clorox wipes, tissues and paper towels.

- We are working on the letter Ll this week. Try to think of words that begin with the letter Ll.
- Practice putting words together to make sentences. Use some of the words from Unit 1, 2 and 3 that were sent home to make sentences. Please continue to practice the Unit words with your child.
- Please keep reviewing patterns with your child using different things around your house. Be as creative as you can be!
- Please keep reading for our Read-a-thon. Showing your child how much fun it is to read will benefit both your child and our school. Happy reading!
- We are in need of Clorox wipes, paper towels and tissues. We are very grateful for your kindness and generosity!
- St. Charles will be celebrating our 90th Anniversary! We will be celebrating with a special Mass this Sunday, January 30th followed by refreshments in the cafeteria and an open-house. The book fair will also be going on from 10:00 to 2:00 on Sunday. Please try and join us for this special celebration, come see your child's classroom and stop by the book fair to see the great selection of books to buy.

Things going on in Kindergarten this week:
- We are practicing the letter Pp this week. Look around your house and see what begins with the letter Pp or ends with the letter Pp.
- We are practicing putting together sounds to make words. Reader books are sent home during the week to help your child learn this skill. Please read the book with your child and fill out the paper when he/she comes home with the book.
- Please continue to practice your Unit words that are sent home in your child's folder. They should have words for Unit 1, 2 and 3.
- Our school Read-a-thon starts Monday, January 10th, and sheets were sent home with your child. Please read with your child and fill in the books that you read. Show your child how much fun and important reading is. Your particpation will benefit both your child and the school!
- Please label all of your child's belongings. They must be in full uniform every day which includes their gym T-shirt as well as their sweatshirt.
- Please have your child practice writing his or her last name this week.
- We are in need of paper towels, Clorox wipes and tissues. Your kindness and generosity is very much appreciated!!
- All students are off on Monday, January 17th and Friday, January 21st.
Things going in Kindergarten this week:
- We are working on the letter Oo. Practice making the sound of the letter Oo at the beginning of a word.
- Practice making the sound in the middle of the word such as pot, hot, doll and mop.
- The children should memorize their address. I will check on Friday to see if they know their address.
- We will be doing our shopping at the Secret Santa Shop on Tuesday, November 30. Please be sure to send money in the envelope that was provided and specify who the children should buy for.
- Parent/Teacher conference forms are due on Tuesday, November 30th.
- Remember to say your prayers each night during Advent when you use your Advent chain. The children will be bringing home their Advent chain this week.
Thank you for your contributions for our Thanksgiving Day Feast. The Pilgrims and Indians really enjoyed themselves and the food was delicious!

Some Reminders:
- Religious Article Sale will be going on this week. Please send in all money in an envelope with your child's name on it.
- The letter of the week is Cc.
- In math we are working on more, fewer and equal sets.
- Our Thanksgiving Feast is next Tuesday, November 23rd. The children will be making Pilgrim and Indian hats in school and will be choosing which one they will be wearing for the Thanksgiving Feast. They may come to school dressed as Pilgrims or Indians. Be as creative as you like!
- The Kindergarten Family Mass will be this Sunday, November 21st, at 10:00. The children will be singing to give their thanks to God! Please try to join us for this special day.
- The children's Uniques Project is due on Tuesday, November 16th.
- Our many thanks for your generous donations for our food drive!
